A visitor from Denmark

On Thursday, 12 March we had a danish PhD student, Mikkel Stovgaard, staying with us for the school day. He has been in New Zealand for two months to research and was keen to see some real Kiwi kids in action. We hope he had a very nice day with us and sent him off with some self-made woven harakeke flowers. Have a good trip back to Denmark, Mikkel! We hope the flowers survive the flight.

People saver course by Red Cross

On Tuesday, 10 March Room 2 attended a first aid course run by the Red Cross. We learnt heaps and had great fun.

Here we are sending for help.

We learn about how to check if someone is still breathing.

Learning the recovery position.

How poison can enter the body.

Learning the order of actions for helping someone who is choking.

Learning to help someone who is bleeding heavily.

Proud to be certified People Savers.
